Russ Granata
Russ Granata, who lived in southern California,
was an educator, writer and translator. For years he worked closely
with Italian revisionist scholar Carlo Mattogno, translating his
writings into English.
Through his own publishing enterprise, he issued English-language
editions of works by Mattogno, including My Banned Holocaust
Interview, and The Crematories of Auschwitz: A Critique
of Jean-Claude Pressac.
He served as Mattogno's translator when addressing conferences
of the Institute for Historical Review, and helped to produce
the IHR's English-language edition of Mattogno's book, Auschwitz:
The End of a Legend. Granata was also a contributor to the
IHR's Journal of Historical Review.
In late 1994 and early 1995, Granata spoke about the Holocaust
story and Mattogno's works on broadcasts of the radio show "At
a Glance." He appeared three times as a guest at the invitation
of host Rodney Bardin, an old acquaintance.
Granata was a six-times decorated US Navy veteran of World War
Two. He was a graduate of the University of California (B.A.)
and the University of Southern California (M.A.), specializing
in European history and literature. He taught European history,
literature and German for 33 years in southern California public
schools.
He died at his home in Palos Verdes, California, on August 14,
2004. He is survived by his wife, Doris, and several children
and grandchildren.
